Finding reliable information!

From where do you get your food and nutrition information? There is so much information about food and nutrition available to us these days, it's difficult to know who to believe!  NPA Accredited Practising Dietitians have over 50 years of combined dietetic practice and are able to provide advice and support to aged care homes about special diets that may be required for residents.

NPA Hint 10.

Do you have an up to date nutrition manual that nursing staff and food service staff can refer to?  It's not easy to find Australian information that is relevant and easy to understand.   Dietary information should not be obtained from the internet unless it has come from a reliable source.  Be sure that the dietary information you are implementing is evidence based and will assist the resident to have the best outcome and improved quality of life.

NPA have written Meal Plans for Special Diets Manual which is currently used in many aged care homes across Australia.   We would be pleased to provide printed material and guidance at any time but especially when a challenging situation arises.
