Do you know how many eggs are OK to eat as part of a healthy balanced diet? We used to think that the cholesterol in eggs would increase the blood cholesterol too high and contribute to heart disease. Not so says the National Heart Foundation! They say that we can eat 6 eggs a week even if our cholesterol levels are high. The food that increases cholesterol the most is saturated fat.
Saturated fat is found in animal fats and some vegetable oils such as palm oil and coconut oil. Keep these to a minimum but make sure that you use some unsaturated fats in your diet such as nuts and seeds, avocado, olive oil and oily fish.
